Chippenham Station Footbridge

Chippenham railway station is the main line station serving Chippenham in Wiltshire. Managed by Great Western Railways, Chippenham Station provides access to the rail network for passengers travelling eastbound to London Paddington and westbound to Bristol, Bath, Devon, Taunton and South Wales. As part of a significant station redevelopment, a new footbridge has been installed across the railway lines providing stairs and lift access between platform zero (no longer in use), the island platform (platforms 1 & 2) and the north car park.

RL648 LED handrail luminaires located in the handrails are used to illuminate the three staircases. Lighting across the bridge span is provided by others.

A central battery system is used to provide emergency lighting in the event of a mains failure. The central battery system will operate the connect luminaire lighting circuits, at full light output for a period of up to 3 hours in the event of mains failure.
