Described as one of the most impressive feats of road engineering in Northern Ireland the Foyle Bridge joins the Cityside (west bank) to the “Waterside” east bank across the River Foyle in London Derry.

As part of a trial for the DRD Road Services, Chromatica installed RGB colour change luminaires over a 50.0M section of the bridge. Each night, for 5 nights Chromatica installed 25 luminaires utilising 6000 tri-chip RGB emitters, 128 DMX digital drivers and 1500M of cabling to animate a section of the bridge.
Multi-facet optics were used to prevent glare to drivers approaching the bridge and light pollution to exclusive properties on the Cityside riverbank. The optics are set dependant on the their position relative to the primary viewing positions making the bridge visible from 3.0km away in the town centre.
Controlled by an onsite PC a series of animated programs pulsated across the bridge to give a uniquely animated artwork intended for use on national occasions
